Lol, so true....but still, makes one wonder

the increase on iTunes is due to a couple of things --1) the AI on chr has increased by 2-3 million over the last 7-10 days; it is now getting enough airplay that people know the song; in general, sales start to respond to airplay once chr airplay exceeds 10mm; 2) even tho this big part of cumulus block just added this week, most of those stations started playing 7-10 days ago..and when cumulus plays and adds most of the stations don't relegate songs to overnight spins. so that is a lot of new stations starting to play the song last week, and adding to the AI; 3) and most importantly, GT was placed on the hot songs list on iTunes main page. On iTunes placement is EVERYTHING. Most users don't search for songs. They see something on the home page or high up on the singles chart, they'll buy it if they know it and like it (that's why home page placement is so important and banners on the pop page are completely irrelevant and useless). Familiarity + Visibility = increased iTunes sales

Great to see Ghost Town hitting a new peak of #16 on the official Australian singles chart (for 3 August):

There's talk of the single going platinum next week, and judging by its brilliant iTunes position (currently it's at #10 in Oz), I'd say that's quite likely

Even the album is doing well on Oz iTunes (low thirties right now), so we can probably expect that to re-enter the Australian album charts next week.

Can't wait to see what Adam's performance on the Australian version of The Voice tomorrow night does to GT's iTunes ranking in that country! (and I can't wait to watch his performance as well )
