Sometime next week the official music video of Ghost Town is going to hit a whopping 20 million YouTube views. That certainly speaks volumes about its popularity, especially compared with the Trespassing singles. In a few days, it will have exceeded the total number of views to date of BTIKM, and is closing in on the NCOE video. Amazing!

In other good news, GT is at #5 (after 13 weeks!) on the official Australian singles chart released today, and I'm confident that it'll hit double platinum status there before much longer.

I'm no more knowledgeable about these things than anyone else here, but it seems to me that if NZ Radio hasn't supported GT, then it's simply a case of the song not having had the chance to resonate with New Zealanders. I'm sure they'd love it if they actually heard it!

All things considered, though, NZ is lucky to be getting a concert in January It's a tiny market, after all (and I say that as a Kiwi). But Australia is a different beast, and I'm thrilled that the single has performed so magnificently there.

Oh yeah thats true, although the mv.is very popular. I.also.think Adams been off nz.radio for three years now. But his new sound is really fresh. But i guess if it diddnt resonate, it diddnt hit on radio. They Zm and Edge especially have very designed playlists. I.think.Aln may do.better though, may fit kiwis more haha. Vocal Ballad, contemporary mainstream pop/rock. Nz is a tiny market, but still important haha.

No, in Australia Gold is 35,000 units sold and Platinum 70,000. It's all relative to the size of the population. (In NZ, it's 7500 and 15,000, respectively.)

Ultimately, I'm still expecting double platinum (140,000 sales) in Australia for Ghost Town. After all, If I Had You went double platinum in Australia, and it peaked at #4 on the ARIA chart, in comparison with Ghost Town's #2. And GT is still riding high on iTunes at #13.

Australia has certainly shown four of Adam's singles a lot of love: FYE (Gold), WWFM (Platinum), IIHU (Double Platinum), and GT (Platinum). NZ, in comparison, has never given Adam a platinum single---only a platinum album (FYE).

Depends on the size of the audience impression. And compared other songs more well known, and with bigger audience impressions. Thats my take on it, im from NZ and its hovering in.the 50's on itunes over here. So not sure re US.

But hovering in the 90s isn't bad, I feel, especially since there was a time before the AI started rising that GT had actually slipped off the top 200 on iTunes.

What's good about the AI, though, is that it counts (along with sales + streaming) for the Billboard Hot 100. That's why GT is doing quite nicely after ten weeks on the chart. In the just-released BB Hot 100, it's at #77 (down two spots from last week). Not bad at all, considering it's currently at #97 on iTunes.

Ten weeks on Billboard is definitely something to celebrate! Meanwhile tomorrow GT should hit 20 million YouTube views
