I love Tori Kelly as well. I'm not sure how Megan Trainor ended up in the "newcomer" category. Hasn't she had a couple of hit songs and been around 2 or 3 years? I like her and am not saying anything bad about her, just curious what the qualifications for the category are. Maybe Adam still can fit in there in a couple of years.

Since it is so rare that he talks to us and giving opinions (except for promo/business tweets) I enjoy his grammy comments.

Interesting that he did not say anything about Gagas performance just about that "facial mapping technology".......

And I disagree with him that Sam Smith looks "incredible".

Adam knows Tori...they've recorded and/or written together (although whatever they've done hasn't seen the light of day)...Adam obviously likes her voice...I think Tori is a very good singer but I think she utterly lacks charisma/it factor/star quality. She has GREAT management and has been pushed relentlessly by her label and over the past year has got opportunities that don't really match up with her level of commercial success. It is super rare for a pop artist to get a BNA nomination without a major hot 100 hit. But good for her that the industry and her label seems to be behind her.

Nope. Tori was a long shot for a nomination as a pop artist without a big hit. She really had little chance of winning. Artists are eligible for BNA in the year their first major full length album is released. Meghan had two hit singles before her debut album was released. That's why is seems she'd been around a long time. She was nominated for All About That Bass last year, but her debut album only came out in January 2015. So she was eligible for BNA in the 2015 Grammy year. By way of another example, Rachel Platten had a huge hit with Fight Song this year but she will be eligible for BNA next year bc her album came out in January 2016. Adam won't eligible for BNA at any time in the future lol. He should've been nominated in 2010 (and no doubt was on the short list and in the running)
