Ego, desire and mentality were expressed
The first concert in Japan by the new star appeared at the TV audition show was held and the stage was filled with glittering dancers and laser lights, looked like he walked the high road of US entertainment. I couldn't believe his performance was the one by the new comer who debut his first CD in this spring in Japan but the very dignified one.
He entertained the audience not only by the visual effect but his voice. He had performed at the musical theater before, so the power of his voice was well sufficient. There was an acoustic parts in the show and he proved his singing ability with his clear high tone voice. I could understand why he was compared with the late vocalist of Queen, Freddie Mercury.
Furthermore his strong point is that he can sing and express the complicated human mentality such as ego, desire and chaos. His voice has the sharp edge that cuts into one's heart. For example, in "What'ya want from me", he sings "It's me, I'm a freak". What differentiates him from other idol singers is these kind of the really heartfelt expression.
As and encore, he covered "the 20th century boy" by T Rex, the fore-most glam rock band in seventies, having been famous for the glamour and sexiness. I felt I saw how serious Adam was as he was learning from the predecessors by covering their song.
