I have a aunt that used to get horrible migraines all the time. I remember, when I was a teenager, staying over at her house, helping with cooking, etc. because she simply couldn't function.

I love my country, but it makes me sad that overzealous Immigration officers scared a very nice person needlessly.

I spent most of today watching the funeral procession/memorial service for Muhammad Ali. I read that he planned this service, he had lists of people he wanted to speak. I knew that all faiths would be represented. But knowing it and actually watching/hearing it was two different things. It was inspiring and moving. There were speakers who represented every religion/race/people. Christian, Jewish, Muslim. There were Buddhist monks and American Native leaders. It overwhelmed me at times to think that his was who he was - a man who welcomed all...a man who celebrated all faiths and people. If only all of us could live our lives that way....what a beautiful world it could be.

One of my favorite lines from today came from Billy Crystal...

"Ali forced us to take a look at ourselves. This brash young man who thrilled us, angered us, confused & challenged us ultimately became the silent messenger of peace who taught us life is best when you build bridges between people, not walls"
