lol my guess is he's talking about the designer or whoever may be helping him decorate. I learned a long time ago to not take Adam's words so literally. After all, he says in the same interview that he bought his house 'this year'.


I am really happy that the info on why he wasn't there last night seems to be today's media news. I didn't want people to think he didn't want to be there or wasn't asked.

I still think they (Fox/Idol) could and should have addressed it. I was kind of hoping for a pre-taped message from him saying he was sorry he couldn't be there but was filming Rocky Horror which would have been a win for everyone since it is a Fox production.

Oh well....even when he's not there he's the topic of discussion. It's all good!!

Bebeg's right. It's an old pic. From what we've seen on Christina Milian's & Reeve Carney's snapchats, it looks like Adam wears a black wig for it, as well as no mustache.

I agree with you. At the very least his team should have made a pre-taped message if he couldn't be there. (lost opportunity imo) Ellen did one and so did Nicki Minaj.

When he won the British LGBT Award last year, he had a pre-taped message that was shown on the screen at the event. It took all of one minute. I think the same could have been done last night. jmho

I'm glad that he is getting a media cycle to say where he was and what he was doing. He sure is a hoopla magnate. He gets press for not even showing up.

Oh well. Moving on.

Yes, in one way I agree and in another it may have done him better publicity wise than doing a short pre-taped message. There was a huge outcry about not seeing him on the show last night, but it wasn't against Adam but Idol/Fox. However, I am happy to see that the media did explain why he wasn't there, but it didn't let Idol off the hook either. As far and Ellen and Nicki Minaj, that's all they got......a 1 shot deal which only lasted a few seconds, while Adam has had clips going on for 3 nights as well as a night with him singing WTTS & MW.

I agree with you on all of this. If you listen to Adam talk in previous interviews, he refers to his team as "we", so it's likely he & the team of designers helping him decorate the back yard.

I also wish he had taped a message for Idol last night, but he's been getting a lot of coverage for NOT being there, and good plugs for RHPS too, so there's that.

i still dont think anyone has done a proper Bowie tribute. Gaga was way down the other end of the spectrum. The Wgwgs werent even on the spectrum lol. Adam is the only act in the music to be right in the middle of the spectrum. That Wgwg bowie tribute my god. What were they thinking lol. I can see Bowie now picking up his good ol cowboy boots, his guitar strumming along to Walk the... Wait thats not Bowie thats Johnny Cash . Was it meant to be a joke? Because i wasent laughing. Chuckled a bit maybe. Good ol Gokey lol.

I think that the most decent Bowie tribute that I have seen was at the Brit Awards this year. Annie Lennox was great. Gary Oldman spoke of his close friendship with Bowie and Lorde performed. It was a full fifteen minutes and very touching with the pics that they used on a changing backdrop.

I also thought that Gaga's was a hot mess. Too little time to try and get all those songs in. What was Nile thinking? He was the musical director on that and should have suggested something more sensible to her.

The WGWG's doing that Bowie medley? imo, it was so bad that I can't even formulate words to express it.

Who didn’t get the JOKE?

I wonder if David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Phillip Phillips and Nick Fradiani knew they were part of a joke?
Waiting for the surprise of Idol surprises because so far there has been no clip, picture or mention of what many believe is Idol’s finest contestant. I’m on the edge of my seat…giddy with excitement…when an assembly line of WGWG (white guy with guitar) winners stood like Disney animatronic figures on the Idol stage. There was no glitter, no lasers, no space age costumes…no Adam. Someone pressed the start button to begin the tribute. At any moment I expected Adam to dramatically appear on the stage, if not in person, maybe as a hologram....
.When they gently strummed their guitars and began to sing “Rebel Rebel”…I realized it was the punchline to the joke.....Idol made sure that everyone would notice that Adam Lambert was missing

I also noticed many non-winners had solos while many winners were buried in group numbers. Idol was showing the voting audience that they got it wrong a few times while also reminding us that they have helped a huge number of talented unknowns launch a career.

I’m making two “the sun will rise in the East tomorrow morning” type predictions.
Every article written about Idol’s final episode will include a “Where was Adam?” section where they further explain that he’s in the middle of a worldwide solo tour supporting his newest album, that he moonlights as front man for Queen with a festival tour coming in the Summer, and is currently filming “Rocky Horror Picture Show” which will air on FOX TV in the Fall.
American Idol is over....…For now, according to Ryan Seacrest as he signed off on April 7, 2016.
