"Ghost Town" First Single

You would be surprised how many pop songs their are with the name Ghost Town. Theirs a list with at least 50 of them. A Radio DJ was asked about Madonnas GT, and didn't even realize she had a single out called GT haha. Woulden't worry. By the time GT impacts CHC, then Contemporary, then Mainstream Top 40. Madonnas GT should fizzle out.

Just an update from NZ. ZM over here one of our biggest mainstream pop stations. As put Ghost Town into regular rotation. So a spin every four hours I have heard. So that's a good start. Single is #76 on the ITunes Pop Chart so doing good. May debut on the NZ Top 40 Singles Chart.

.....For Ghost Town Lambert has teamed up with producer Max Martin and the end result is one of the star’s finest singles to date.

Ghost Town is a mixture of folk and dance that works far better than you’d think it should on paper. The song creates an atmosphere as Lambert sings over an acoustic guitar before the beats and whistles come in on the sparse but memorable chorus. The track is both beautifully haunting and incredibly catchy, and it’s refreshing to hear Lambert turn in a more restrained vocal. Lyrically the song is pretty sad lamenting on the loss (and lack) of love, something we’re sure many people can relate to.

The release of Ghost Town has certainly generated a lot of interest and excitement amongst both critics and fans. The track is the lead single from The Original High, Lambert’s forthcoming third album, and the change of direction is one that suits him. The collaboration with Max Martin clearly works and it sets the stage for Lambert to finally become the global superstar he’s long been predicted to be. Don’t be surprised if The Original High is his most successful album to date.

This traffic comes from the Glamberts, Adam's very loyal, very vocal, very passionate and very click-happy fanbase. The Glamberts are - and we're only partially saying this because we don't want them to come round and murder us in our sleep - one of the best fanbases around. But what is Adam Lambert beyond that fanbase? From a UK perspective, at least, he's someone who people know had something to do with American Idol a million years ago. They know he's had some music that's been good, and they know he's been hanging out with Queen quite a bit. But there's also a sense of most people not really getting what the fuss is all about.

Part of the fuss from the media is down to the click thing, but part of it's also down to the fact that when you meet Adam you meet someone who speaks and thinks like a proper actual popstar and who - unlike most popstars - understands exactly who what and where he is in the pop cosmos. And that brings us to 'Ghost Town'. Created, like most of the best pop, with Max Martin, 'Ghost Town' is an unusual but instantly accessible (and also very good) song which does indeed take Adam somewhere new and does, we feel, have the potential to make sense of the fuss to people who aren't Glamberts and don't care about online traffic. It feels strange to suggest that someone with such a big profile might have delivered a crossover hit three albums into their career, but here it is.
