Great to see Ghost Town returning to the US iTunes top 200! It's currently at #195 (overall). That radio exposure is starting to pay off [clap.gif] Meanwhile South Africa and Finland, in particular, continue to show it amazing love! I'm also thrilled to see it doing so well in Australia (#41 at present). In fact, the Aussies are showing Adam more interest this time round than NZ. (Come on, my fellow Kiwis!)

popping back in because I continue to see kind of nutty, incorrect stuff re: GT at radio on twitter and other sites -- stuff like, "oh hopefully now that it is in the top 40 the big stations in big markets will add it", or "z100 only adds songs once they hit the top 20". OK, first of all, the big stations in big markets ARE ALREADY playing GT. I am mystified by any statement to the contrary. Its been added by big pop and hac stations in LA, San Fran, Chicago, Miami, San Diego, New York, Phoenix, Dallas, Seattle, Baltimore, Portland, Vegas, Salt Lake City, Tucson, Philly, Nashville,St. Louis,Sacramento, Houston, Memphis, Cincinnatti, Detroit. These are the big markets. There are basically 3 big markets its missing -- Boston, DC and Atlanta. No stations in those markets have added the song -- but there are stations that have played it. Plus it has been added at lots of secondary cities and all over the south. And there are a lot of stations that have not added the song that are playing it and may add it in the next few weeks...Most of the pop adds GT got this week were from stations that had given the song a few spins over the past few weeks and just added now (and I'm not talking about auto-adders,). There are still quite of few of these stations that have played and not added who will likely add over the next few weeks. Remember, a spin is more important than an add. A station that spins 10 times but doesn't add has done the song more good than a station that adds and plays it 3 times. As for z100, there is no "typical there"...sometimes they wait until a song gets into the top 20; sometimes top 30, sometimes top 40;sometimes they add a song upon release (even from a not big star -- they added wwfm on release); sometimes they take a chance on an overseas hit and add it before it reaches even top 50 (like the current Marlon Roudette song that they added a few weeks ago, and still hasn't cracked top 50). Z has had GT as an all access "hot pick" now for a few weeks. 3 weeks ago it started playing it 4X per week during its 9 pm countdown or 10 pm hour, the next week it added an overnight rotation and upped spins to 2-4 per day (except the weekend)...that has continued into this week. Having watched the station for a long time (Its my local station) it is very odd to me that they added the overnight rotation last week after not adding the song; I assumed they would just do so this week but they did not. I've never really seen them play a song this much without adding it. The important thing is that they keep playing it. If they do they will add it eventually (unless they think they already did and there was a glitch with mediabase -- this actually does happen and cannot be ruled out given the increased rotation); if they don't add and stop playing but the song continues to rise up the chart without them they will likely bring it back and add it at a later date. Its kinda strange, but the key thing is that they are giving the song a chance, and playing it during evening hours when it can actually be heard. Radio continues to look good and hopefully will continue to improve over the coming weeks

Z100 didn't play anything from Trespassing -- not BTIKM, not NCOE. Not even when he did a visit/m&g at the station; not even when he was on premises for his album release iheartradio show. And this was after they had given very strong support to both WWFM and IIHY. So the fact that they jumped right in and started playing GT the first week it was out at radio, and then increased spins, and have highlighted it by playing it during their 9 pm countdown show is HUGE. Hopefully the response has been good enough for them to continue to play it and increase the number of times it is played.

GT is on the request list because it has been played. Once a song it played it automatically shows up on the list...if it isn't played again for a week it disappears. That is the only reason - z itself didn't put the song on the list. Remember, those request forms really don't matter at all. They supposedly use them for their 9@9 countdown, but not really -- they play whatever they want during the countdown for the most part and use some of the spots to highlight new songs
