Apparently, I am in the minority here. [0144.gif] I can't get ALN out of my head but have to admit, I wasn't sure when I listened to it the first time. But when I sat back and closed my eyes and just drowned myself in the song, it is really a great song, lyrically, musically and Adam's vocals are right out front and centre. [Love.png]

I do like EITN as well, but ALN is my fav. [dance.gif]

Hi Tiki: Don't get me wrong: I love Another Lonely Night. It's infectious and endearing and touching, and there's nothing I'd change about it, right down to its quirky "moos." But it's just that---for me, anyway---it had the "misfortune" to be released the same day as Evil in the Night, so it's been overshadowed somewhat, much the same as the adorable Naked Love was overshadowed (for me) in 2012 when I heard the amazing Shady and Chokehold at the same time.

[smile.gif] We all hear things differently and we all have our favs. Some songs don't hit me right off the bat, and I have to really listen to them, and ALN was one, that I wasn't sure about. In the end it became my favorite of the two. I also love EITN, but something about ALN got to me. [happy.gif] and I was just expressing how I felt about it. That was all and had nothing to do with your thoughts about EITN. [hug.gif] I'm just happy that fans old and new are loving Adam's new music. [0071.gif] [dance.gif]

I know exactly what you mean! In fact, my two beloved dogs (Rupert and Liam) and my equally beloved cat (Jerry) are looking at me as I write this [foxes_251.gif]

But in terms of commercial appeal, I would swear on my grandmother's grave that Evil in the Night---of the three tracks we've heard since GT---possesses all the ingredients necessary for a smash single. Not only that, but it features arguably the best lyrics we've heard on any original Adam song.

I trust your instincts Derek, since I do not listen to a lot of what is in the pop field out there today, although I do love the pop music coming out of the UK. However, not sure these two songs will be released to the radio, since Shosh has said GT is the single, but perhaps the stations will add it to their playlists anyway . Would be great to hear them both on the radio though [smile.gif] . Just would mean I would have to listen to all the other stuff in between. The things I do for Adam. [0144.gif]

The thing that is special with this song and all of Adam's songs, they all just add new flavors to our meal of wonderful treats!

Another Lonely night begins with an amazing, crisp, refreshing vocal and nostalgic instrumental start; then MOO!!! wakes you up; jumps you into a modern, catchy upbeat melody all while expressing such heartfelt feelings that so many of us may have experienced with a lost love and the resulting loneliness. Adam then manages to lift our spirits with that sweet, melodic spot in his voice, despite his poignant words of loss and longing for companionship. And of coarse Adam manages to (in the explicit version) rime "up" with his favorite word! [0144.gif]

I just love every one of Adam's songs, just like he says he can't choose a favorite. Every one is special in it own way and his voice is what holds them all together! Once I start listening to any of his last albums and my Queen downloads. I can't skip any of the songs. When I am listening to them in their normal position on the record, I find myself not only enjoying the current song but looking forward to the next including every bonus track. The end of his record just necessitates searching for more. Just so much ear candy all in a row. [thumbs.gif]

I think this song is so appealing because it combines a Pop element along with Adams amazing rock voice in the chorus. It has some really strong, hot, sexy lyrics and the instrumental part has that great Nile Rogers strum and takes off into a strong oriental'ish sound we have never heard from Adam before making it unique amongst his other tunes.

Yup,played that for the hubby as well. He loved ALN - that he could tell where the melody was going to go.

Adam definitely had a vision supported by the producers and the label about the direction for this album.
