quick update re: AT40....it looks like they no longer include recurrents on the AT40 countdown shows...so GT will debut earlier than initially thought. However, the show still runs about 3ish weeks behind the current mediabase chart...GT is debuting as a "breakout" on the hac countdown show this weekend. Generally a song debuts as a breakout or "on the verge" prior to debuting on the at40 countdown chart...so if GT is being played as a breakout this week it will likely be on the cd next week (and every subsequent week going forward); I'd estimate it debuts on the pop at40 countdown in about 2-3 weeks (maybe as a breakout, maybe just on the chart)...altho it could get bumped a week due to the new m5/taylor releases...but it'll get there and should debut there sometime around album release

I'm impressed by how many views the official music video of GT has been receiving: over 100,000 in the last 24 hours alone, bringing it up to 2,304,836. At this rate, it has a good chance of hitting the three-million mark in another six days [smile.gif]

Meanwhile I see that the song's now in the upper 170s on US iTunes (#51 in Pop), even occasionally sneaking into the low 160s. That radio exposure is slowly but surely paying off (along with word of mouth). It's also very gratifying to see the song at #53 worldwide!

No, this is not like it is done in the UK or anywhere.

It is correct that in the UK they send the single to radio and then release it after it gets (hopefully) radioplay.

But it is not common or "normal" to to release a single 6(!!) weeks after the album release. Thats why I said the UK fans are surprised and confused too.
