I'm surprised that no one's mentioned Rolling Stone's review of TOH yet! (Or did I miss it?) It came out last week in the print edition:

3/5 stars---the same score the mag awarded to FYE back in 2009---is on the stingy side (especially since it reads like a three and a half), but the review is positive enough to make the uninitiated interested in checking out the album

Actually, if anything's worth only three stars, it's the quality of the writing here It really doesn't capture the album at all.

But so far, so good with regards to the eventual Metacritic score for the album. Both the AllMusic's 4/5 and the RS's 3/5 will be counted, so that makes it a respectable 3.5---or 70/100---at this point.

Billboard loved Trespassing, so I'm hopeful that they'll come to the party this time as well.

Honestly I saw the review last week but figured people would be mad about the three stars so didn't bother mentioning it. Personally, I think three stars from RS is great. Especially considering they rarely give five stars.

Right, they give three stars to most albums and they were huge fans of Trespassing and this album is really different from that. There really isn't anything negative in the review. Lots of compliments and even when they comment on silly lyrics they qualify with another compliment like he sings it with conviction. They call the single excellent too. Quite supportive.

I guess it's just that I really don't put much importance in reviews. It's just one person's opinion. I don't decide what music to listen to, what movies to see or tv shows to watch based on one person's opinion. And RS could have given this particular review assignment to someone else and the review would have been completely different. Could have been better....could have been worse.

Sure, it's fun when reviews are glowing and really positive and when everyone feels the way we do about Adam. But, that's not reality. And even amongst us, the fans, the reviews of the album/singles would be different.

I still think it's a positive review and I am not going to take a number of stars assigned to an album all that seriously. But, I understand that some people do.

I figured it out! Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett! A little faster though.

I just have to laugh at Shame...it is sooooo ridiculous but totally fun!

I am dying to hear ALL of these songs live! Adam will have his hands full performing these. I think Ghost Town was an easy start!
