My Adam Review
(sorry it’s so late, got off the plane last night, and promptly got lit up with a couple of friends.. more on that to follow)
(I apologize for the length in advance.)
I don’t know if you heard, but Milwaukee had a bit of a rainy night last week.
I got caught in it after I was picked up by a friend after getting my hair did. We almost died, or whatever. Manhole covers shooting up out of their resting places, the sky opening up and lightning striking two cars ahead of us, led us to park near the last bar in Milwaukee you are allowed to smoke in. Well, we thought we were near it. It turned out to be 3 blocks away. We booked it. (I sort of jogged.. Ish. I don’t run.) We stopped a block and a half in under some cover, realized that we were sharing it with a crazy person, and took off the rest of the way. When we arrived at the bar, dumping our eyeballs out, we realized that it was indeed raining IN the bar. We spent the next hour taking out buckets of water with the two workers, and two customers that were there.. They made us shrimp and gave us free drinks. Needless to say, it was some crazy effing storm.
The airport closed.
THE AIRPORT CLOSED.
The day I was scheduled to leave, airport: Still closed.
All day at work I was terrified that I would miss my flight.
I did not. But that airport was not a friendly place when people had been camping out there for 2 days.
I actually heard a grown man whimper the words, “But I don’t wanna sit by mySELF.”
I arrived in SF with no probs, spent a couple of days with close friends eating delicious foods and answering any questions they had about Adam. They were surprised to know that I had all of the answers. My girl now says she “gets it” after I showed her the Milwaukee WLL. My guy.. Still confused. Baby steps.
We got to the venue right after Alison had played. I MISSED HER AGAIN.
It’s funny, I had said something about being in that neighborhood before and it not being so bad.. Sorry about that, dudes. Totally terrible. Within 5 seconds of stepping out of the car we were surrounded by 3 men that were speaking in poor taste about my friend’s booty. She exposed her pregnant belly and said, “Do you not see the life that I am carrying?” It was at this point that one of the men put his hands on her baby. She backed up, and I charged like a rhino. I was barking some sort of incoherent mumbo jumbo about never touching a woman without being invited to do so, and screamed “BACK THE EFF UP.” They left us alone. This, however, set the tone for the evening. I was scrappy.
We found our seats on the balcony.. Good sound, totally different vibe from my last show in row 12. We sat through Orianthi. Boo. In the middle of her first song, a woman behind us said, “I would be able to see if she would just SIT BACK.” (speaking, of course, about my pregnant friend who was leaning forward because the baby was sitting on a nerve.) Oh, no you didn’t, B! I gave her the “talking in the movie theater” eyeballs, and I think they moved. If that was any of you.. Passive-aggressive much? Oh, and here’s a thing.. We had the whole row to ourselves? What the what? Could people just go down into GA, or were these tickets purchased by a scalper and not sold? Questions.
Adam came on, and geez.. I was just beaming with pride. The last time I saw him was totally different for me. It was the first, ya’know? He was great. You saw the videos. He did that crazy spin move off the bench, and my heart skipped a beat. Careful BB!!
After the show, we waited by the buses. Kind of. We were across the street talking shiz, and smiling knowingly at the security guard that was HILARIOUS. “When I said keep driving, I meant DOWN THE REST OF THE STREET.” Funnies. We also pretended to be invisible when the cops would drive by, because.. Well. We were in the street. “Be cool, Nina. Don’t move.” It worked.
Preggo had to pee, so we walked to the corner, made a couple of roadie boyfriends, and hopped in a cab. Which is when we heard people screaming “Adam, we love you!!!” DAMMIT! I really just waited around for my friend. She wanted to meet him. Badly. I have expressed my feelings about meeting him before, and I don’t think anyone is taking me seriously. I would throw up on myself. And it would never end up the way that I want it to. With him being my best friend and making out with me all the time. He’s just better left un-met.
So back to getting drunk last night. I was at work today, and suddenly had the recollection of me crying to my brother on the couch.
I texted him.
Me: What was I crying about last night?
Brother: You were balls deep in whiskey.
Me: Yeah.. But what was it?
Brother: Mostly, you were upset with your feelings of resentment towards Adam because he’s never going to be your friend.
Me: I’m the worst.
Brother: Yes.. But you’re a nice person?
The end.

Alright! Finally done uploading to Photobucket!! WHO WANTS PICSPAM??
Some of the best pics:
And click for Soaked:
The vids are mostly partials, with some camera audio distortion, but I definitely got the Fever fun, Sleepwalker intro (I have no idea why I stopped filming for Sleepwalker >.< ), and the Adam/Brooke booty dancin. The best one is Soaked for sure though. Close up and clear sound! The vids should be at the very end, after all of the pictures. There's also some vid from the buses when the crowd started singing If I Had You to get him to come over to our side, LOL.
Please don't re-upload the vids to YouTube. I
will get to it, it's just that I'm very behind on uploading my concert vids and I upload chronologically so that I can find stuff easier later.

my tweet didn't lie. I took a picture of Neil without his permission, just to spite him. ;))
