OMG! lol! Ok, as one of the ladies in the lobby watching him work out, let me just say that everything seems to get exaggerated to the hilt where Adam is concerned! As a smalltown reporter as well, I will attempt to give a fair recap of that situation. Let me just say that there were quite a few of us in the lobby waiting with anticipation of Adam coming down the elevator, but it was not a huge crowd by any means! And I didn't hear a huge amount of screaming and yelling as he quickly made his way into the workout area! And there were maybe four gals who went outside in the extreme heat to watch him from a nearby staircase, but for me and everyone else it was simply TOO HOT to stay out there, even to watch Adam. Boiling hot outside! The rest of us were simply in the lobby or down the hallway watching from a great distance behind an additional glass window, far enough to be 'respectable.'
I noticed that my few friends and I were the only ones hangin' in the lobby near the elevator when he finished his workout. The others were standing further away and they told me later they had seen his tweet about the matter so tried to stay further away. I didn't know at the time. BUT when he headed for the elevator with security it was quiet, we didn't scream or yell or say anything really, AND I did notice Adam had this cute grin on his face the whole time, like he was amused. Plus I was relieved when I finally did see the tweet that he put 'lol' in it, and believe me, his face was 'lol' as well! So no harm done. :whistling:

My friend did extremely well and is hooked!!! My Sqanqs sign was never disturbed. Glad some people came by to say hi!
I'm still flying high from the weekend and trying to accept that RL starts today, with just a little detour-- we have AI tickets for Staples tonight including a M&G. Somehow, I can't muster up enthusiasm for that part. I never have had one with ADAM. bloated.gif innocent.gif innocent.gif bloated.gif
I enjoyed having dinner and a Lambertini with your hubby and friend. I do believe the show met all your wants and needs! You wanted the heat turned Way Up and he did just that! WOWZEE!!
Momma Mia, one hot spicy meatball! It was great!
One complaint, and I actually talked to the set up people about it later. There was something with the sound system, the base I think, being at max and it was competing with Adam's fabulous voice. It was like please turn it down so we can better appreciate Adam's voice. I wasn't sure if it was just the section we were seated but other people were saying the sound system sucked. The person I spoke to was very concerned and said he works for Adam and that Adam would be very upset if there had been a problem. He said please say something during the show if ever this should happen again. He offered me the set list. I enthusiastically asked if it was signed by Adam and he said sorry but no. I said no that's ok. He was so sweet and nice. Another good hearted sole in Adam's circle of life. I felt like I wanted to be his friend!!

Great seeing you, too! My BFF is a confirmed Skank now! It was fun experiencing it through her eyes.
I agree with you about the sound. It was off. OC had much better acoustics, and I had a much better sense of his singing there. But I certainly loved this show more--loved his look.
Weighing in on the watching him in off-time--my experience of Adam is that when he wants privacy, he gets it. When he comes down through the lobby, he's happy. His face is an open book. I've run into him just too many times now (never when I try to, only by chance--it's very weird how that works with him). He is a master at avoiding crowds when he wants to.
We're not his mother. We don't need to take care of him...

I loved Costa Mesa. I totally rocked out and Adam was excellent in both voice and hotness!
I loved FS in a different way and appreciated all the surprises along the way.
The bottom line is that he brings much happiness and would love many others to get it - and soon!

We thought he might have had jet lag. God knows we would have been a mess with that kind of schedule. Just to clarify, we all saw Adam in Fantasy Springs in 2010 so we do have high expectations. His voice was gorgeous in CM but we are spoiled! You might be right about the humidity sapping his strength. He looked so sweaty right from the beginning. Don't get us wrong, he was very good in Costa Mesa but absolutely on fire in Indio. Just beyond belief! :) Our seats were better in FS so that made a difference. Definitely worth losing a few hours sleep camping out for good seats.
After reading peoples' responses, I realized that I can't write something in jest without some winks. It's too easy to misunderstand. It was my first time posting online in a very long time so I had forgotten that pitfall. Valerie

Home, sweet home! Took the redeye home so I'll be crashing very soon, I'm sure. I haven't read through this whole thread but did read the last few pages.
1. Re: Lobby
Whatever happened to 'live and let live'? I walked through the lobby just before Adam came out (I found out afterwards). Yes, there were people there. They seemed to all be getting reacquainted with each other and having a great time. Were they all waiting for Adam? Dunno! If they were, good on them! If they weren't, they were certainly having fun with each other. It's not my thing to try to see Adam off stage, but that's me. If others like doing that sort of thing, nothing wrong with it. It will be a sad day if NOBODY was trying to catch a glimpse of Adam.... So again "live and let live" folks! :D
2. Re: Gambling
I am glad to report that my gambling was a success! I either lost $95 or won $5 - lost track of a $100... :haha:
3. Re: Costa Mesa vs Fantasy Springs
Two different concerts.... both thoroughly enjoyable. Costa Mesa was Adam's first concert post-Queen and he may have been trying to find his footing a little bit. This was not a 'fandom only' concert, so the energy he got from the crowd was different. Front row center, there was a family with young kids WHO SAT THROUGHOUT THE CONCERT.... Not very inspiring for any performer, I would think... Unless you're a crooner!
4. Re: Getting praise for Adam from the oddest source
I was outside the airport last night having one last cigarette before taking my flight home. A black SUV pulled up next to me. Two older men got out and got luggage out and one of them seemed to be talking to someone still in the SUV. Then 3 papparazzi with cameras showed up. Out came this young blonde kid. Very slight in stature and very short. He didn't look particulary happy. I had no idea who he was. I went back in to go buy a coffee and went back up for yet 'another last' cigarette and the driver was still there.
I asked him who the kid was and he told me it was Justin Beeber. I expressed my surprise at how small he is and how young he looks. He said his mom and dad are both very short. I told the driver that I was surprised that only 3 paps showed up. The driver said that they're such a pain in the a$$. I said I was a huge Adam Lambert fan and knows what Adam has to go through with the paps at times.
Well, lo and behold, turns out the driver has taken Adam around quite often. He said he is one of the nicest guys and is a real hoot. When Adam is alone with the driver, he usually has some interesting convo and that he has a great sense of humor and very down to earth....
Who would have thought I'd hear praise about Adam in such an odd way.... Loved it!
5. Re: Key cards
I went to the frontdesk on Sunday and asked them to give me whatever they had left over. They were very happy to give them to me since they would have just thrown them away. So I have a whole slew of them! Everyone who has PM'd me will be getting one.
