In one teaser, Adam says he’s excited to work more closely with his picks for the Under 22s category: Natalie Ong, Amalia Foy and Isaiah Firebrace. It seems that the “American Idol” runner-up really knows his business – every single act from his team set the “X Factor” Australia stage on fire. Fan favourite Natalie blew the judges away with her rendition of “When Love Takes Over” by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. The Singapore-born young student earned the highest compliment – a standing ovation from all of the judges.
Adam’s two other acts, Amalia and Isaiah, also made their mentor proud. Amalia nailed Sarah McLachlan’s challenging ballad, “Angel,” while playing the piano. She brought Adam, Guy and Iggy up to their feet, but Mel B said she was a bit bored by the performance. The three judges – minus Mel B again – also gave a standing ovation to Isaiah, who sang “Lay It All On Me” by Ed Sheeran and Rudimental. Without a doubt, Adam was one happy camper with his team’s performance. It would be interesting now who among the three would be sent home by the viewers.
