I didn't know you could pre-order a single.  I just looked at the singles charts and don't see songs that can be pre-ordered.

And I still don't understand why pre-ordering the album is bad.  Just looking at that NZ chart it's exciting that the album is in the top 20 from pre-orders.  How can that be a bad thing.  People go to iTunes, see the album on the charts, didn't even know he had an album out, pre-order it or make note to buy it when it goes on sale.  That all sounds good to me.

Maybe I just don't get all the game playing.

Pre-ordering the album on iTunes is bad because on the date of release, all those pre-orders are thrown out the window for charting purposes. THEY DON'T COUNT ITUNES ALBUM PRE-ORDERS!

Having said that I'm glad that there IS some game (=plan) in place and so far it looks like much more thought and effort put into Adam's album than the previous era.

So far, it's been a time zone roll out... I guess in the next few hours, iTunes will hit North America which is where we see the expected album release date!

I would really love to see the song registration for LUCY...the track with Brian.  Did the Dr. ave a hand in the writing?

Also, hope the US gets the "clean lyrics" version...for my 9 year old granddaughter :wub:

to be a bit clearer - iTunes pre orders will count as a sale for sale purposes/Billboard 200/soundscan purposes.  But they will chart on the iTunes album chart at the time of the preorder only.  In the past, preordered iTunes albums charted at the time of purchase and then that same sale was counted for the iTunes chart at the time of release.  So a preorder basically counted twice for charting purposes (even tho it was only one sale).  so if a bunch of fans preorder and get the preorder to number 20 on iTunes, those sales won't count for iTunes charting purposes when the album is released, hindering the ability to get the album high in the iTunes chart.  A high iTunes position is great promo for the album.  if our fanbase was bigger it wouldn't matter so much -- we could gt the preorder to chart and the album would chart high on release as well.  here we will need all of our efforts together to get a high chart position.

but y all means preorder the album everyplace else -- amazon, adamofficial, walmart, target, barnes N noble...in both hard and digital form

DAMMIT! I have to sign up to be gifted, because my iTunes will absolutely NOT connect to the iTunes store, no matter what I do. :(
