When Simon Cowell predicted that Adam would be an international star, he certainly wasn't exaggerating. It's wonderful to see "Underground" charting right now on iTunes in countries as diverse as Ecuador (#15!) and Poland (#149), while in NZ it's at a very respectable #115. And the album itself is currently at #59 in Egypt and #60 in Denmark! How's that for international appeal?!

Chilling vocals, again very stripped back, not his usual style at all. No tremendous high notes, no deep lengthy explorations into his low register. Just a pleasant song, meandering its way into your heart. Soft gentle piano playing in the background, a perfect love song. Breath taking in every single way. Haunting insight into Adam’s love life, he did say this album was his raw open heart. Here we see he really is baring everything for his music.

Leaves me wondering after a year touring with Queen asking every night for somebody to love, if Adam has finally found what he is looking for. We can only hope he has, he certainly deserves the best of everything in his life. Including the best possible person to share his life with. I hope whomever this song was meant for understands just how much he loves them in this, what could fast become the greatest love song of all time.

I bought Underground on Itunes, but just now sat down to actually listen to it....love it when it gets to the higher register. I love Adam's wailing [oops.gif]

I have a feeling this whole album is going to take me into music territory that is for me, uncharted territory....love that! My Ipod is full of different types of music, so this will be a great addition.

I always have to listen to a song several times before I can really decide how I feel about it, whether it "speaks" to me or not, so that's my project for today.....listening to Underground a few more times (along with the chores [icon_lol.gif] )

Adam Lambert is a firm favourite here at 4YE. The vocally flawless, pitch-perfect singer always delivers, whether it’s performing on stage with Queen, acting his socks off in Glee or bringing us his own music.

“Underground” is the latest song to be lifted from his upcoming studio album, The Original High, which will be released in June. Lambert promised fans a different, darker sound to the album and based on what we’ve heard from the first single, “Ghost Town“, and now “Underground”, he’s right.

The track is slower, more intense than a lot of stuff we’ve heard from Lambert before. It’s piano driven, which gives his vocals a chance to shine, and it has a dark, moody vibe to it which I just love. It also lets Lambert show his higher register off, which is always perfection.

The lyrics hit home too. Lines like “When you’re gone it’s like I lost one half of my mind” and “Nobody kills me like you do” are thoughts and feelings we can all relate to and although the emotions he describes are very intense, I am sure we’ve all felt that way at one time or another.
